New students must schedule an evaluation before starting lessons. (See bottom of the page for a description of the hitting evaluation.)

Evaluations and lessons are held at the Bat Cave, 8734 East 21st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46219. The Bat Cave is located near the intersection of I-70 and Post Road. Hitting and pitching lessons may be held off-site as well. Contact me for details.

Hitting Evaluation

The initial hitting lesson is an evaluation that costs $50 and takes about 45 minutes. The evaluation includes:

  • my evaluation fee, admission, and the tunnel rental.
  • a video recording of the player swinging a bat.
  • an introduction to the Epstein Hitting System.
  • an in-person video breakdown of the student’s hitting mechanics using the video recording of his swing. This breakdown covers the important stages of the rotational swing and goes over the batting flaws that typically hold back youth baseball players.   • a chance to ask questions.
  • my proposal for improving the player’s swing in future lessons.

You will understand what a high level swing looks like and what you player needs to do to develop a high level swing.
