Training On Your Own

Practicing with your team or instructor is not enough achieve your potential. If you can go to a facility or field with friends, that is great. There are also training routines you can do on your own.

HITTING

You can always hit off a batting tee by yourself. You can use regular baseballs, wiffle balls, or foam balls. You may or may not need a net as a backstop. if you have a bat sensor, you can work on attack angle and bat speed. Here are some batting drills I like:

Knob to Knee Drill – promotes load/stride connection, hand/front foot separation, and rhythm.

Hook ‘Em – develops lower half load and tempo.

45° Off-Set Drill – develops upper half load and counter rotation.

Step Backs – focuses on bottom half load and weight transfer.
