15U Indy Sharks – Details

The 15U Indy Sharks are aiming for a roster of 14 players. This is a standard size for serious high school travel teams. We will typically bat 10 players (using an extra hitter) in games. There are no guarantees about playing time. However, we respect that this is pay-to-play and you are not paying for your player to sit on the bench all the time. We will try to balance opportunity and competitiveness as best as we can given the circumstances.

We believe in developing well-rounded baseball players. Players are expected to work on pitching and train to play the outfield and infield (with a focus on two infield positions). Our experience is that the more versatile the player, the more likely they will find playing time in high school. There will be Sharks sponsored clinics and camps available for your player to attend. These are built into your team fee. They are also essential parts of our development program and your attendance is expected.

Our practices will be at the following locations. Other facilities or fields may be added depending on the need and availability.

  • Sharks facility in Fortville (400 W Church St Fortville, IN 46040)
  • Bat Cave (8734 East 21st St, Indianapolis, IN 46219)
  • Lawrence North High School (7802 Hague Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46256) – pending approval

Because we do not know the details about when we can use our facilities, we can only give you a general outline of our practice schedule. We anticipate practicing regularly throughout the fall and winter (usually twice a week or more). We will stop team activities in mid-March when the high school baseball season officially starts and resume practice the week before Memorial Day as JV and C teams finish their last games. (Note that high school players are not allowed to practice or play with their travel team during the high school season.)

We expect to play two or three tournaments in the fall (all local) and seven tournaments in June and July. We may do two or three tournaments out of town tournaments requiring overnight stays. We really won’t know until tournament schedules start coming out and we see what competitive options are available.
